River Song
6/18/13
Moonlight blanketed everything
Turned rushing river silver
Enchantment permeated the air
As your hand brushed my fingers
Glowing stars above held vigil
As gauzy clouds wandered by
Ancient spires were the sentinels
Protecting the valley from both sides
Whispers poured forth from eager lips
And longing ears received
Words awoke sleeping chasms
Of desire and possibility
The relentless wave of intoxication
Grew with each sharp and ragged breath
Until dizzy, buzzing, and exhausted
Only sleep was left
Dawn broke the spell moonlight had cast
The glow of stars was gone
But by the shore memories rush back
As I hear the rivers song
